Suranaree University of Technology Shines as a Top Thai Institution in the QS Asia Rankings

 

Suranaree University of Technology (SUT) has secured joint 10th place among Thai universities in the latest QS World University Rankings: Asia 2025, placing it firmly within the 401-410 band in Asia and 69th in Southeast Asia. This achievement underscores SUT’s commitment to academic excellence and its rising prominence in Asia.

The QS Asia University Rankings 2025, published by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) on 6th November 2024, evaluated 984 universities across Asia. Notably, SUT continues to stand out in terms of academic quality and international recognition.

 

 

Among Thai institutions, SUT ranks first in the "Papers per Faculty" indicator, showcasing the high productivity and impact of its research. Additionally, SUT ranks second in Thailand for "Staff with PhD," emphasizing its commitment to attracting and retaining highly qualified faculty members who enhance the quality of education and research. This year, SUT has seen considerable improvements across several indicators, which contributed to its increased ranking. Highlights include:

  • International Research Network: Significant growth in international partnerships, reflecting SUT's expanding global reach.
  • Citations per Paper: A robust rise in research impact, reinforcing SUT's reputation for high-quality research.
  • Academic Reputation: Enhanced standing in academic circles, indicating strong regard from scholars and institutions across the region.
  • Employer Reputation: Improved recognition among employers, underscoring the readiness of SUT graduates for the workforce.
