SUT Delegation Makes a Trip to Melbourne Universities

From December 2nd to 4th, 2013, Professor Wichit Srisa-an, Chairman of SUT Council and Professor Prasart Suebka, SUT Rector are leading a team of SUT administrators to Melbourne, Australia for a study visit to three major universities. Study topics of particular interests include university-community engagement, innovative curricula, medical education, and cooperative and work-integrated education.

On Monday 2nd, December, the team paid a visit to Swinburne University of Technology, another SUT but in the southern hemisphere, where they were greeted by Mr Andrew Smith, Vice President for Engagement, Mr John McPhee, Industry Engaged Learning Manager, Faculty of Information and Communication Technologies, and Mr Luke Sheehy, External Engagement Adviser. Vigorous discussions involved Swinburne’s key strategies and activities for university-industry engagement and opportunities for collaborations between the two universities, especially on industrial-based learning.

The team also visited Swinburne’s Advanced Technologies Centre and the Student ‘Hub’.
